Markir Tal is a Peacekeeper tech who ends up being caught in a prison break.
During a weapons test, using live prisoners of subjects, Tal is assigned for one last check on the transport pod to be used in the test. As he's doing this, however, the prisoners revolt, kidnapping Tal and making off with the transport pod. They manage to escape and are eventually picked up by Moya. On the Leviathan, Tal is placed in one of the old holding cells under the vigilant guard of a DRD.
When someone sends a distress call to the Peacekeepers, Tal is suspected. Having not moved from his cell, however, the crew realize that there is a traitor among the prisoners. As it turns out, the Hynerian prisoner Orrhn had made a deal with Tal and it was her who sent the distress signal.
Orrhn helps Tal escape from his cell and armed with a pair of pulse weapons he fights his way to the transport pod with Orrhn and Rygel in tow.
D'Argo, Crichton, and Aeryn pursue in D'Argo's ship, easily catching it and boarding. In the ensuing firefight, Tal is killed.
